About Me

Hi, I’m Carey

With over 25 years of working in the community to provide assessment and treatment for children, youth and their families I understand the importance of working collaboratively with community partners and caregivers to give my clients the support they need.

As a Registered Social Worker, holding a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, I have provided clinical care in a variety of treatment settings including the school board, hospital and primary care.

How I support you

Therapy is a place to slow down, feel understood, learn about yourself and develop skills to help support you. Sessions are tailored to your goals and paced with care.

Over a therapists shoulder blurred in the background you can see a teenager holding a fidget toy and playing.
My Approach

A calm, compassionate, safe and trusting space

We start by getting to know each other through talk-based and creative approaches. Through this we identify your needs and what you would like to gain from therapy.

Warm, non-judgmental support

Strength-based

Collaborative care

For children, teens and their families

Support that fits your child’s life

Whether it’s anxiety, low mood, stress or life transitions, therapy focuses on what matters most right now. Therapy is a space to feel understood and validated. Therapy provides an opportunity to enhance confidence and self-esteem, develop tools and strategies to manage harder moments.

Emotion regulation tools

Healthy boundaries

Rooted in personal Experience

I extend the same care I would want my own children to experience.

I am passionate and caring in my approach to working with my clients. As a mom of two teenage girls, I strive to extend the same care I would want to see for my own children. I recognize the strength it takes to seek support, and value the trusting relationship between client and counsellor.
